The aim of the initiative is to put forward the ground realities of MSMEs and other stakeholders in the defence industry ecosystem, and to give them a platform to interact and synergize their relationship.

Defence industry is a critical pillar for Atmanirbhar Bharat. Much progress has been already achieved, and the process of indigenising domestic defence industry has picked up a good impactful pace. The domestic defence industrial ecosystem is growing fast, but linkages are required to cover the gaps between various stakeholders’ perceptions and their respective positions. There is an urgent need to build synergy between users, designers, developers, and manufacturers with decisionmakers and perhaps even financiers.

It is planned to cover this gap by utilising the unique position of the USI to the advantage of all stakeholders - MoD, DDP, the three armed forces and others, with domestic defence industry including the growing base of MSMEs. Work on identifying requirements/problems, understand domestic capacities and capabilities, gaps and weak links in the functional process will be followed up with recommend remedial action to individual stakeholders. It also plans to educate MSMEs and provide guidance by experienced practitioners. These will help provide decision making bodies a clear picture of domestic realities and feasibilities.
